Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 October 2026

This policy explains what happens to the information you give us on this site, and what we collect automatically while you are here. It covers the Ghost Installations pages on this site. Our main website and our online shop have their own policies.

Who we are

Ghost Installations is a trading name of TrackerTeam Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11035167, VAT number 281 2566 01). Our head office is at Unit 16, Hanson Lane Enterprise Centre, Halifax HX1 5PG.

TrackerTeam Ltd is the data controller for the information described here. That means we decide how it is used, and we are responsible for it.

You can contact us about your information by email at hello@ghostinstallations.co.uk, by phone on 0800 246 1482, or by post to the address above.

What we collect

When you ask for a price or a call back

Our enquiry form asks, one step at a time, for:

  • your vehicle's registration number, if you know it;
  • its make, model and roughly how old it is;
  • the postcode where you would like it fitted;
  • whether you would like to buy online or have a call back, and when suits you for a call;
  • your name, phone number and email address.

If we show it, the form also records whether you would rather not hear from us by email about our other vehicle security products.

We use your registration number to work out which Ghost fits your vehicle and to prepare for fitting it. We do not look it up with any outside service.

While you fill in the form

Your answers are held in this browser tab, so you can go back a step or reload the page without starting again. They are cleared 30 minutes after your last answer, or when you close the tab if that is sooner. Your name, phone number and email address are never stored this way, and nothing reaches us until you press the final button.

Collected automatically

WhatWhy
Your IP address and browser details (the "user agent") To protect the enquiry form from spam and abuse. They are stored with your enquiry so misuse can be looked into.
The web address you arrived on, the page that sent you, and any campaign tags and advert click identifiers in that address (for example Google's gclid or Meta's fbclid) To know which advert or search brought you, so we spend on the adverts that work. They are held in your browser for the visit and sent with your enquiry if you make one. The campaign tags and advert identifiers (never anything you typed) are also added to links from these pages to our own websites, our online shop and Trustpilot, so the site you go to can tell which advert you came from.
Pages viewed, and which steps of the form were completed (never what you typed) Analytics, to see where the site can be improved. Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them. If you refuse, Google's tag still receives basic signals that use no cookies and cannot identify you.
Your cookie choice So we do not ask again on every page.

See our Cookie Policy for the cookies and similar technologies involved, and how to change your choice.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To give you a price, call you back and arrange your fitting. Because you asked us to: these are steps you requested before a possible contract with us, and if you go ahead they are part of that contract.
  • To measure which adverts lead to enquiries. With your consent, where that involves cookies or similar technologies on your device. Confirmations sent from our server to Google or Meta happen only if you accepted advertising cookies.
  • To keep the form safe from spam and abuse. Our legitimate interests in running a working service.
  • To email you now and then about our other vehicle security products. Our legitimate interests, under the rule that lets a business email people who asked it for a price. You can say no on the form, and in every email we send.
  • To meet our legal obligations, such as keeping accounting records if you buy from us.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We share it only with the companies that run parts of this service for us, under contract, and only what each one needs.

  • Edge Digital, our marketing agency, which built and runs this site and keeps a copy of each enquiry made through it on our behalf, so that none is lost if our customer database is unavailable.
  • Hetzner and RunCloud, which host the server this site and those enquiry copies sit on, and manage it.
  • Zapier, which passes each enquiry from this site into our customer database.
  • Pipedrive, our customer database, where your enquiry is kept so our team can call you and arrange your fitting.
  • Ruler Analytics, which links enquiries and phone calls to the advert or search that led to them, so we can see which of our marketing works. It may show you a different phone number for that purpose. Only if you accept its cookies.
  • Mailgun, which sends the operational emails our systems produce, such as an alert when an enquiry could not be passed on. Those alerts can include the enquiry's details.
  • Cookiebot, which asks for and records your cookie choice.
  • Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads) and Meta (Facebook and Instagram adverts), which measure visits and tell us which adverts led to an enquiry. Where you have accepted advertising cookies, we share a scrambled ("hashed") version of your email address or phone number, so they can match your enquiry to an advert you clicked. They receive the scrambled value, not the email address or phone number itself.
  • Shopify, which runs our online shop. If you choose to buy online, we pass the shop a reference number for your enquiry, your vehicle's make, model and year, and any advert identifiers you arrived with. We never pass it your name, phone number, email address, postcode or registration. What you enter in the shop is covered by the shop's own policy.

Reviews and videos on our pages

Our pages show customer reviews from Trustpilot, and videos hosted by Wistia, which load only when you press play. These services may set their own cookies, as our Cookie Policy explains. We do not send them your enquiry.

Information sent outside the UK

Some of these providers are based in, or use servers in, other countries, including the United States. When your information leaves the UK, we rely on the UK's adequacy regulations (including the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or on the Information Commissioner's international data transfer agreement or addendum, so that it keeps the same protection it has here.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for two years from your last contact with us, and then delete them. If you become a customer, we keep the records the law requires for as long as it requires them, which for accounting records is normally six years.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • correct anything that is wrong;
  • delete it, or restrict how we use it;
  • stop using it for a particular purpose, including emailing you offers;
  • pass it to another organisation in a format it can use.

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. That does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it. For cookies, the Cookie Policy explains how.

To use any of these rights, email hello@ghostinstallations.co.uk or call 0800 246 1482. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
